One of the things I like about having a store in Wellington is that I can visit Cafe Laffare a lot more. This week was no exception and it was great to see that after 20 years the Cafe is still going strong. It's a bustling environment with quick service (the best I've experienced) and well priced food that is always fantastic. I don't drink coffee any more but I drink lots of Tea and their Tea is just as good. They also do a great Hot Chocolate and counter food. The "brat in a bun" with rocket sauce is pretty much the perfect marriage of meat and bread. It's hard to go past what these guys do. Wellington has adopted them as their own and they really are pioneers of the New Zealand Cafe culture. A multi million dollar business today with their products available through all the major supermarket chains their Cafe remains the heart and soul of what they do. Slightly eccentric, a bit dishevelled and in a constant state of chaos they remain a vibrant and interesting place to meet, eat and drink. Happy Birthday Laffare.
