Its nice to know that as a parent of a Lego obsessed child that I have contributed to LEGO's 28% surge in sales in the last year. It seems I am not the only person who is exposed to a constant flow of Lego facts, release dates, prices and "ideas". I am not the only one called at strange times of the day and night to be told the Warehouse or Farmers are announcing 20% of all toys. Lego is responsible in my house for teaching my Lego obsessed child the intricacies of Foreign Exchange " It's only 15 dollars"(US + shipping) and that America is geographically a long way away from New Zealand and not somewhere you can just pop off to on a Sunday afternoon because Amazon Books are selling a new release from the Star Wars range. I admire the brand and the constant hours of entertainment it brings, the rattle of blocks is quite often the only sound that emits from bedrooms at times. I guess it's a good thing that a classic toy is gaining in popularity rather than another violent video game. |
