I was disappointed not to see this exhibition whilst I was away. It's on at the National Portrait Gallery

My Favourite photos from Penn are from his Small Trades series which features Deep Sea Divers, Lorry Washers and Milkmen. The Hamilton's Gallery (also in London) are running an exhibition to coincide with the portrait series and the works have been available in book form for some time.  

The image above of Alfred Hitchcock is one of my favourites. I love the emotion (or lack of it) he has captured in this shot. Other works are of such greats as Alberto Giacometti and Cecil Beaton.
